All About Me

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Cynthia Vautrot (pronounced Vo-tro).  I am a life-long resident of Ellijay.  This is my 24th year of teaching and my 7th year in 2nd grade.  I am so excited to welcome you to my classroom this year.  Teaching has been a passion for me every since I can remember.  My first "students" were my dolls and stuffed animals.

I taught kindergarten for many, many years and still use many of those techniques in my classroom.  I enjoy hands on-learning and not so much so for worksheets, so do not be alarmed when your child does not have a lot of worksheets to bring home.

I have been married to my husband, Ronnie, for 26 years.  He is a schoolbus driver on the Boardtown Route.  We have two fabulous daughters.  Megan is our oldest.  She is married to B.J. and teaches 4th grade at North Georgia Christian Academy.

Camille is our youngest daughter.  She works at Gilmer County Library (you have probably seen her when you've visited there) and attends Kennesaw State University.  She is engaged to Chad and will be getting married in January.

We have an outdoor dog (Sahara), cat (Thor) and a horse (Apollo).  (Actually, those all belong to Camille!)  We also have an indoor dog, Andy and MY cat, Sheba (Yes, I am a cat lover!!!!)

I enjoy camping, traveling, playing the piano, reading and spending time with my family.

I think the most important thing that can be done to make this a successful year for your child is to work closely together.  When parents and educators work TOGETHER, the student is the one who benefits, grows, and excels!  Contact me at anytime!!!  It's going to be a FANTASTIC year!!!
